BONE GRAFTS
In some instances where substantial bone damage has occurred, a bone graft may be placed into the defect. The graft can add additional support to the teeth.
GUM GRAFTING PERIODONTAL PLASTIC SURGERY
Gum recession is the loss of gum tissue over the root surface. This causes the teeth to lose a natural defense against bacteria and trauma. A gum graft is a treatment that can correct this problem. We place a piece of gum tissue from the palate or an artificial piece of tissue on to the affected area to thicken the gum tissue, preventing further recession. In many cases, this can restore the gum tissues to their original levels before the recession occurred.
CROWN LENGTHENING
This procedure is used when there's inadequate tooth structure or decay below the gum line preventing a filling or crown from being placed. During the procedure, we remove tissue (gum and bone) from around the tooth, exposing more structure for the restoration.
